Beijing, China, March 4 – A 5-member delegation led by D. G. of Transmission Office, Mr. Mohammad Jaffar Salih from Iraqi Ministry of Electricity paid a visit to C-EPRI on 3 March 2013. They were to be familiar with C-EPRI’s HVDC solutions and to investigate into factors related with HVDC project planning and implementation. C-PERI’s Vice General Manager Dr. Kunpeng Zha and Chief Engineer Dr. Junzheng Cao warmly welcomed the delegation.
Firstly, the delegation toured C-EPRI’s Power System Power Electronics Laboratory, HVDC converter valve production workshop and Hybrid Digital/Analogue Simulation Center. And then a presentation was given to them, illustrating C-EPRI’s main business area and major accomplishments. C-EPRI’s comprehensive knowledge on HVDC project design and simulation as well as its reliable products deeply impressed the delegation members. They talked about current situation of Iraqi Power Grid, and their intention to launch several HVDC projects using the existing HVAC corridors. Both parties exchanged views on possible solutions as well as corresponding technical and economic feasibilities.
Persons accompanied include representatives from China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co., Ltd. (CET) and Iraqi local agent.
